PSA: Cara Cara oranges are the most delicious frui PSA: Cara Cara oranges are the most delicious fruit in existence.

There, I said it! Whatcha gonna do about it?

Seriously, if you knew about these globes of gastronomical glory, why have you been holding out?!

If you've never had one and, like me, mistakenly thought they were like a lot of winter citrus - really tart - then you are in for a treat.

They are sweet the way Clementines and Tangerines are sweet, and they have an orangey taste, but it is their beautiful pink colour and hint of Ruby Red grapefruit that really seals the deal for best fruit ever.

Look, these are so delicious I've created a one person/one post evangelical mission to preach about their ambrosial taste and colour.

This is my self care mission this weekend: do less work and more Cara Cara orange eating in front of Crave and Netflix.

Will you join me? Got a rival fruit you're similarly bananas for? (Like that fruit pun? It's pear-fectly pithy, no?)

*sigh* Who else is happy it's Friday?!

Did you leave taking a prenatal class a little lat Did you leave taking a prenatal class a little late? Did you take a class but STILL feel unprepared for your birth?

BIRTH SCHOOL is happening this Saturday morning and you should totally join us!

We'll be talking about the what happens during labour, how to know when to go to the hospital - or call your midwife - what common medical interventions you can expect in Hamilton area hospitals and what to do before or instead of getting an epidural. And we'll also talk about those, too!

This is a judgment free class helping you have a great birth experience and learn how to make the choices that are best for you, no matter what kind of birth you are dreaming of.

See you Saturday?
Sneaking in time to meditate can be hard when you Sneaking in time to meditate can be hard when you have a baby who wants to be in your arms all the time.

Consider taking the time to meditate the next time you little one is quiet, cuddly and drowsy.

Sit, or stand, in a comfortable place, hold your baby comfortably and close your eyes. Focus in drawing your breath slowly in through your nose. Breathe the air down deep into your belly and feel it, and the baby in your arms, rise a little as your belly expands. The let the air out through your nose or your mouth. Feel your belly, and your baby gentle bob downwards. Just let the breath out, don't worry about controlling it.

Repeat this 5 or 6 more times. With each exhale, feel your shoulders and your back, your chest and your neck, your arms and your thighs relax. Let the tension go a little more each time. Listen to the sound of the breath inside your head.

Continue breathing comfortably. Each time a thought comes into your head let it float in and then shift your focus back to the sound of your breath. Enjoy the simple pleasure of just existing.

Life is a lot right now. Carving out small moments of simplicity and mindfulness can help you reduce stress in the rest of your life.

If you worry about taking enough time for your meditation, or spending more time that you have in mediation, you can set a timer on your phone. Be careful to set the alarm tone to a quiet bell or chime so you're not startled when it goes off. Start with 5 or 10 minutes and work up to 15 or 20 minutes.

Try it once a day or set aside some time in the morning and in the afternoon. In the next few weeks, you'll start to notice less stress and more patience in your life. What a gift to give yourself!

SELF CARE TIP! If you're feeling overwhelmed and SELF CARE TIP! If you're feeling overwhelmed and disconnected - and seriously, who isn't these days - you can reduce the stress you're feeling and increase your feelings of connectedness by taking a minute to just hug your partner.

It's such a simple thing, but it can have really profound effects!

Oxytocin is a hormone and important neurotransmitter. It can reduce stress, stabilize our moods, increase our sense of well-ing, helps us feel bonded to our partner, promotes relaxation and trust.

Take a moment every day to just hold your partner in your arms, or be held by them. Stay connected in a hug for 30 seconds or more. Just breathe and feel your tension ebb away.
Was this year your baby's first time seeing and to Was this year your baby's first time seeing and touching snow? What was their reaction?

I remember my littlest one laughing manically while running around screaming and throwing snow everywhere. It was hilarious. And annoying, when he kept throwing snow all over the sidewalk I was trying to shovel.

Some kids hate snow, tho. Or feel betrayed when they realise it's cold.

What was your little one's reaction?
Have you started panicking yet about what you're g Have you started panicking yet about what you're going to do about your other kids when you go into labour? You could ask a neighbour, but maybe you don't know any. You could ask your family, but the nearest parent or sibling is a couple hours away, and they have to work, besides. And, who feels comfortable calling a friend across town in the middle of the night?
