Was this year your baby's first time seeing and to Was this year your baby's first time seeing and touching snow? What was their reaction?

I remember my littlest one laughing manically while running around screaming and throwing snow everywhere. It was hilarious. And annoying, when he kept throwing snow all over the sidewalk I was trying to shovel.

Some kids hate snow, tho. Or feel betrayed when they realise it's cold.

What was your little one's reaction?
Have you started panicking yet about what you're g Have you started panicking yet about what you're going to do about your other kids when you go into labour? You could ask a neighbour, but maybe you don't know any. You could ask your family, but the nearest parent or sibling is a couple hours away, and they have to work, besides. And, who feels comfortable calling a friend across town in the middle of the night?

What is 1 piece of advice you'd give to a brand ne What is 1 piece of advice you'd give to a brand new breastfeeding/chestfeeding parent?

How do you know when it's not going well? How do you know when it's not going well?

Because it seems like it would be totally normal to feel like a failure as a new mother. It seems like it would be totally normal to cry more, to get angry easily, to forget to eat, to not care about what you look like...

I mean, you have a tiny baby. You might even have a tiny baby AND a couple of other little people who need your attention night and day!

You're busier than you ever imagined being. And when you aren't busy you are tethered to your baby while you feed them, console them, nourish them, clean them, entertain them...

It's easy to imagine all of your feelings are supposed to be there. And, tho they are normal in the sense that they often happen to parents with tiny children, if those kinds of feelings - overwhelm, hopelessness, frustration, desperation, sadness, regret - are filling your heart and mind most of the time or even half of your time, there is help.

You deserve joy. You deserve laughter. You deserve wonder and awe and excitement.

Check out our show Birth & Baby Talk this week if you are about to become a parent or a new parent. This stuff is important to address and we'll help you recognize when you need help.

Have you been getting enough sleep? During Have you been getting enough sleep?

During pregnancy, your changing body can make it hard to stay asleep for long. And if you were a back or stomach sleeper, it may be uncomfortable to have to stay in a side sleeping position.

We recommend using lots of pillows. Use those suckers to build a little wall on either side of you:

🛌🏾 Use a pillow behind your lower back to help prevent you from rolling flat on your back.

🛌🏾 Use a pillow under your growing belly to support it.

🛌🏾 Use a pillow between your knees to improve your spinal alignment and take pressure off of your hips at night.

🛌🏾 Use a pillow in front of your chest to snuggle into, especially if you are normally a stomach sleeper.

🛌🏾 Use a specially designed side sleeper pillow or roll a towel and put it inside your pillow case to align with your neck to give you great head support at night.

Do you have any helpful sleep tips for The Pregnant and The Restless?
📚It's the weekend!!!! All your reading you get 📚It's the weekend!!!! All your reading you get to do for yourself. So, what are you reading this weekend?

I'll go first:

I've got a new book that was gifted to me by a former client, now friend called The Farm by Joanne Ramos. It is a bit of a social commentary/dystopian fantasy that highlights the impossible lives lived by immigrant (and sometimes undocumented) domestic workers who become surrogates at a luxury farm in New York.

Now you! What are you reading? 📖

No need to hide inside - the best option for getti No need to hide inside - the best option for getting outside with baby while all of this snow is everywhere is to bundle baby into a carrier!

Remember:

👉🏾 Cover baby's toes and hands, but make sure they have a clear airway to get nice, cool air for breathing

👉🏾 Allow bright light onto their faces in the early mornings to signal that it's daytime and time to stay wakeful and then get sunlight onto their faces in late afternoon to help trigger their melatonin and set their clock for sleepy time

👉🏾 Wear a big coat, a fleece jacket or a hoodie and zip it up around the baby to keep them well-protected from the cold and wind - and snow, if it's snowing out there

👉🏾 Your baby needs one extra layer of clothing than you as an adult to stay cozy but don't overdress babies because they can overheat.

If you've got pics out with your little one tag us! We would love to see your beautiful faces living the outdoor life with baby!
